Secca del Papa (technical dive)
This immersion is really interesting if takes place starting further than the descent buoy for recreational immersions; the seabed, down to 48mt, which frames the basement on which the main shoal rests, offers at least two different paths both ending, anyway, on the main spire which it’s easier to ascend from. Uncountable ditches and slits, and a multi-level profile which winds between dozens of groupers, hunting snappers, barracudas, schools of breams, also amberjacks whenever the transit moment happens (September), gorgonians, etc
In this immersion you descend along the mooring buoy prepared for the AMP, then you swim on the summit of the shoal until you reach its end in the northern side; here, following the profile of the rock, you reach the depth and swimming for few minutes, you get to two granite pinnacles reach of life and colour. The immersions goes on parallel to the inner side of the shoal, but along the line which marks the two bathymetries of -50 and -54mt; brown seaweed concretions created a suggestive landscape which hosts various species.
